12,000 Reason to Love 100 Women Peterborough
March 23, 2018 – PETERBOROUGH – The inaugural meeting of 100 Women Peterborough on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, saw Hospice Peterborough selected as the recipient of the generous donation of $12,000.
More than 100 women have made a huge difference to the lives of those living with life-threatening illness and grief!
“We are absolutely delighted to have such a wonderful community of women who will help us make a positive impact on our clients and their families,” says Linda Sunderland, Executive Director, Hospice Peterborough, “We are truly honoured and thank 100 Women Peterborough for selecting us as the first recipient your funding.”
These funds will help outfit the integrated arts space at the new Hospice Peterborough Care Centre, set to open in early 2019. This room will offer children and their families a welcoming, safe and peaceful space where they can find comfort and strength to begin to heal through art, music, play therapy, mindful meditation and more.
Organizers Wendy Hill, Catia Skinner, Alyssa Stewart and Rosalea Terry, launched 100 Women Peterborough with the vision of helping local community causes. 100 Women Peterborough will meet with the group four times a year to select non-profit organizations and charities in Peterborough to receive $10,000 annually.
Thank you to all the members of 100 Women Peterborough who are making a difference in our community and who will continue to demonstrate the power of women working together.
